“Hi, I’m Gina, and I believe in meeting you where you are with honesty, compassion, and absolutely no judgment.”
Meet Gina:
Gina M. Helsel is a licensed marriage and family therapist with a deeply personal and relationship-focused approach to therapy. Before becoming a full-time therapist, Gina spent nine years as the manager of the Ronald McDonald House near Wesley Medical Center, where she supported families caring for seriously ill children, including premature infants, teens recovering from accidents, and children undergoing cancer treatment. This work exposed her to a wide range of emotions each day—from profound grief to moments of hope and healing—and shaped her compassionate outlook on care.
Following that role, Gina spent six years serving on the board of Caring at Risen Savior Lutheran Church while also providing individual and family therapy. After relocating to Great Bend, she transitioned into full-time clinical work and has now been with The Center for Counseling for 12 years.
Gina works with clients experiencing depression, grief, sexual trauma, and those who are questioning what they want for their future. She believes strongly in meeting clients where they are, offering care that is honest, compassionate, and free of judgment. Gina often draws from her own life experiences with trauma and tragedy to help clients feel understood and less alone in their struggles.
Her goal is to create a space where people feel safe to share openly, heal at their own pace, and move forward with clarity and hope.
