Growing Hope, Healing, and Connection Across Central Kansas

Green Field Pattern

At The Center for Counseling & Consultation, care begins with connection. Since 1968, we have served Central Kansas with compassionate, professional mental health and substance use services rooted in dignity, access, and community.

Established by the local Mental Health Association in partnership with area county commissioners, The Center was created to ensure high-quality, community-based care would be available close to home. Organized under Kansas law as a Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) and a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), we are governed by a locally representative board made up of citizens from each of our four participating counties, including consumer and family members—ensuring the voices of those we serve help guide our work.

Our team of licensed mental health professionals provides care to residents of Barton, Rice, Stafford, and Pawnee counties, offering a wide range of services that span prevention, treatment, crisis response, recovery, and community outreach. We believe effective care is not one-size-fits-all, which is why we meet people where they are—emotionally, culturally, and geographically.

More than a provider, we are neighbors, advocates, and partners. Every day, we remain committed to cultivating help, hope, and healing—strengthening individuals, families, and communities across Central Kansas.

Who We Serve

The Center for Counseling & Consultation serves people of all ages across Central Kansas. As both a Community Mental Health Center and a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), we provide open access to care—serving anyone who seeks services, regardless of insurance status, ability to pay, location, or level of need.

We meet individuals where they are and walk alongside them through mental health care, substance use treatment, crisis support, and recovery—working in partnership with families and community providers to strengthen well-being across Barton, Rice, Stafford, and Pawnee counties.
