Chris Gahagan HEADSHOT.png

Hi, I’m Chris, and I look forward to working with you to build on what you already do well and develop new skills for what comes next.

Meet Chris:

Christopher Gahagan is a licensed master’s level psychologist (LMLP) and serves as a Child and Family Therapist and Clinical Team Lead at The Center. He brings experience from a variety of settings, including community mental health, Kansas Department of Corrections facilities, and state hospital environments, providing both assessment and therapy to diverse populations.

Christopher works with children, adolescents, young adults, and families who are experiencing emotional, behavioral, and developmental concerns. His clinical focus includes trauma, anxiety, emotional regulation, executive functioning challenges, and family system issues. He uses evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), trauma-informed care, and structured skills-building to help clients develop practical tools for daily life.

In addition to traditional therapy approaches, Christopher integrates mindfulness and somatic practices as a certified Mindfulness and Yoga Coach (Little Flower Yoga). He also incorporates neurodiversity-affirming strategies to promote self-advocacy and support each client’s unique strengths and needs.

Christopher believes therapy works best when it builds on a client’s existing strengths and support systems. His collaborative and encouraging approach focuses on helping clients recognize what they already do well while developing new skills to reach their goals. Outside of work, he values creativity, exploring new ideas, and staying connected to what brings meaning and purpose.
