As a Substance Use Counselor at The Center, you will provide compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals and families navigating substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges. This role focuses on assessment, treatment, and ongoing support for clients across the lifespan. Through individual, group, and family services, you will help clients build insight, develop coping strategies, and move toward sustainable recovery and improved overall well-being.

Provide substance use treatment services for individuals, families, and groups based on assigned caseload and credentials
Conduct substance use assessments, evaluations, and intake appointments
Develop and update individualized treatment plans
Complete progress notes, documentation, and required paperwork accurately and within required timeframes
Respond to utilization reviews and make necessary corrections in a timely manner
Coordinate care with internal teams, including Substance Use Peer Support staff
Make appropriate referrals to community partners and support services
Participate in departmental meetings, agency trainings, and community events as appropriate
Engage in ongoing professional development and obtain required CEUs for licensure
Maintain active licensure in the state of Kansas
Perform additional duties as assigned
Requisitos
Minimum Qualifications
Licensed in the state of Kansas in a substance use or related behavioral health discipline
Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field with substance use licensure
Valid Kansas driver’s license with a favorable driving record
Background free of issues related to abuse or neglect
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field
Experience providing substance use and/or co-occurring disorder treatment
Bilingual (Spanish preferred)
Additional certifications related to substance use or behavioral health treatment

Technical Skills
Proficiency with computers and electronic health record (EHR) systems
Ability to complete documentation accurately and efficiently
Familiarity with treatment planning tools and data tracking systems
